Job summary

Basin Industries in Sturgis, MI is seeking a quality inspector who can read engineering drawings and CAD models to develop inspection programs using Polyworks and similar software. You will select, plan, set up, and use precision measuring equipment to ensure hardware conforms to specifications.

Duties include first piece and first article inspections, on-site reviews with clients, monitoring the flow of parts through the CMM, and providing timely status updates.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CMM programming utilizing Polyworks and/or similar software.
• Working knowledge of practical measuring techniques, including manual surface plate layout, CMM programming and operation experience
• Practical knowledge of statistical process control, including Process Capability and Gage R&R Studies
• Thorough understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Strong Root-Cause Analysis skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Perform first piece inspections and first article inspections.
• Maintain customer specific First Article s and on-site reviews with clients.
• Monitor flow of products through the CMM.
• Communicate effectively to provide information and status updates as required.
• Devise and implement inspection plans for Production personnel.
• Assist in corrective action investigations.
