About the Role

We're hiring a CMM Programmer/Operator to run dimensional inspection on aerospace-grade components using Coordinate Measuring Machines and PC-DMIS software. This is a hands‑on precision measurement role at the core of our quality operation; you'll program CMM routines, inspect parts against tight tolerances, and verify conformance on tubes, tooling, fixtures, gears, and machined components.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect tubes, tooling, fixtures, gears, and machined components for dimensional accuracy
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
  • Develop, edit, and maintain CMM inspection programs for new and existing parts
  • Verify part conformance against engineering specifications and tight tolerances
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate, traceable quality records
  • Support internal and customer audits and AS9100 compliance activities
  • Investigate nonconformances and help drive corrective actions
  • Communicate inspection results and quality concerns to engineering and production teams

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED (required); associate degree in a related technical field a plus
  • 2–3 years of experience in Hexagon CMM operation, metrology, or quality inspection (aerospace/manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Hexagon CMM equipment and PC‑DMIS/Quindos software, or willingness to learn quickly if not already experienced
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with solid documentation and recordkeeping habits
  • Basic math skills (fractions, decimals, ratios, tolerances) and ability to interpret statistical data
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across teams
  • ASQ CQT certification or Hexagon/PC‑DMIS training a plus, but not required

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and pass periodic vision exams to ensure measurement accuracy. Work is performed in a combination of tool crib, inspection lab, and manufacturing floor environments.
