Job summary

APM Manufacturing seeks a CMM Operator - Portable-Romer Arm in Quality. This full-time role inspects complex machined parts in an AS9100 environment, performing mid and final inspections and recording data.

You will apply GD&T, shop math and blueprint reading while interpreting customer drawings. Proficiency with Romer arms and PC-DMIS software is required, with strong attention to quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination.
  • 3–5 years in manufacturing preferred; CMM operation and Romer arm experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision inspection and document verification of complex machined parts in an AS9100 environment.
  • Perform mid and final inspection processes; interpret customer drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain and operate inspection equipment including surface plates, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, profilometers.
  • Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 and generate IPIRS data.
  • Inspect incoming/outgoing materials for conformance and document nonconformities.
  • Complete surface plate setups and Romer arm-based measurements.

Job description: Job Title : CMM Operator - PORTABLE- ROMER ARM Department: QUALITY Reports To: QUALITY MANAGER FLSA Status: FULL TIME HOURLY $35.00-$50.00 Position Summary: Perform precision mechanical inspection and documentation verification of complex machined parts in a fast-paced AS9100 environment. Perform mid and final inspection processes. Must have good understanding of GD&T, shop math, blueprint reading, MS Office, and machining knowledge. You will be expected to interpret customer drawings, specifications and follow Travelers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.   • Must have a demonstrated proficiency with surface plates, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, profilometers and any inspection equipment found within an aerospace machine shop
  • Blueprint reading ability
  • Machine shop math knowledge
  • Perform First Article Inspection in Accordance with AS9102
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T
  • Report safety concerns to Inspection team or quality Manager
  • In - process inspect First Articles from machines
  • Collect Measurement data for FAI reports
  • Review routers to ensure that upstream operations have been completed and signed off
  • Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (IPIRS)
  • Complete Discrepant Red Tags any forms required for rejected parts
  • Inspect Incoming and Outgoing materials for compliance, specifications, and conformance requirements
  • Perform surface plate and complex setups

Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.3-5 years in Manufacturing preferred. CMM operation desired along with Romer arm (PC-DMIS software). Language Ability: Read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Write and speak simple sentences in the English Language. Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: Intermediate Certificates and Licenses: None required, above experience needed.   • Must be comfortable working in a Manufacturing environment with loud equipment and various materials
