Job summary

Basin Holdings is seeking a CMM Programmer Operator in Easley, SC to program and operate CMMs, interpret drawings, and support quality across manufacturing stages.

You will perform FAI, in-process, and final inspections, analyze data, and collaborate with engineering to resolve dimensional issues while maintaining CMM calibration and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of CMM programming and operation experience in metal fabrication or precision machining.
• Proficiency in CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of GD&T.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and 3D CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMMs to inspect complex metal parts and assemblies.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop measurement routines.
• Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
• Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.

Essential Functions

• Program and operate CMMs (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar) to inspect complex metal parts and assemblies.
  
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to develop accurate measurement routines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in CMM programming and operation within a metal fabrication or precision machining environment.
• Proficiency in CMM software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes such as welding, forming, and CNC machining.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
