Job summary

RTX's Module Center in East Hartford, CT seeks a quality/engineering leader to design and program CMM inspection using GD&T and non-contact methods.

You will create standard work, support programming, and drive improvements to meet quality metrics while collaborating with manufacturing and quality teams.

Requires a bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience; U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; aerospace experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create CMM inspection programs for Module Center using GD&T.

• Create standard work for CMM and non-contact inspection.
• Drive product/process improvements to meet quality metric goals.

Overview

What You Will Do

• Utilize GD&T knowledge to create CMM inspection programs for the Module Center departments.
• Support the CMM Programming team in ensuring product and process compliance by providing CMM programming solutions per quality procedures.
• Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement through CORE tools (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence), RCCA (Root, Cause, Corrective, Action), mistake proofing, and related methods.
• Create standard work procedures for CMM and non-contact inspection.
• Drive product and process improvements to meet Module Center quality metric goals.
• Foster and maintain cooperative relationships with Module Center departments and other Quality and Manufacturing personnel.

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in Quality and/or Manufacturing operations and/or engineering management or similar environment; or Master’s Degree with 3 years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

• 2 years of experience with CMM programming using packages such as MODUS, CAMIO, CMM Manager Metrology (concentration preferred).
• Expert knowledge of GD&T drawing interpretation and measurement system implementation.
• Programming in Python or VBS preferred.
• Experience with non-contact dimensional inspection equipment and programming (e.g., Nikon I-NEXIV, SLK-25 LK Laser, Renishaw RVP).
• Strong statistical and analytical skills; knowledge of DoE, SPC, and Gage R&R.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing or quality; knowledge of aerospace quality standards and ASME Y14.5 standards.
• Excellent priority management and experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, SPC).
