Cullerton Group is seeking experienced CMM Programmers / Applications Engineers for a direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturer of precision metrology and coordinate measuring equipment. Location: New Hudson, MI, with nationwide travel.

You'll program CMMs, support customers, perform demonstrations, and assist with training and installations using CAMIO, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, and DMIS-based software.

Qualifications

• Hands-on CMM programming and dimensional metrology experience.
• Strong GD&T and dimensional inspection knowledge.
• Ability to develop and troubleshoot CMM programs independently.
• Excellent communication and training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, optimize, and troubleshoot CMM programs using industry-standard metrology software.
• Provide technical applications support for CMM equipment, software, and dimensional measurement systems.
• Conduct customer demonstrations, onsite training, and equipment installation support.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to develop effective inspection strategies.
• Work with measurement technologies including touch probes, analog scanning probes, and laser scanning systems.
• Assist customers with programming challenges, measurement accuracy, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and applications teams to resolve technical issues.
• Learn and support additional metrology technologies as needed.

Job description

Cullerton Group is seeking experienced CMM Programmers / Applications Engineers for a direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturer of precision metrology and coordinate measuring equipment.

Location: New Hudson, MI

Salary: $65,000–$95,000 annually

Travel: 50%+ nationwide

This role combines hands-on CMM programming, dimensional metrology, customer demonstrations, technical support, and training. The ideal candidate has experience with CAMIO, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, or comparable CMM programming software, along with strong GD&T knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot complex measurement applications.

You'll work directly with customers across the United States, helping them implement, optimize, and troubleshoot precision measurement solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in CMM programming and dimensional metrology.
• Experience with CAMIO, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, CMM Manager, or comparable DMIS-based software.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to develop and troubleshoot CMM programs independently.
• Strong technical troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts, demonstrate equipment, or train others.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more throughout the United States.
• Ability to work onsite in New Hudson, MI, particularly during initial training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced experience with CAMIO or PolyWorks.
• Experience with multiple CMM programming platforms.
• Knowledge of laser scanning, analog scanning, or other advanced measurement technologies.
• Previous customer-facing applications engineering, technical training, or equipment installation experience.
• Exposure to emerging metrology technologies, such as confocal measurement or industrial CT scanning.
