Job Title: CMM Programmer

Pay Rate: $40.00-50.00 per hour

Location: Remote (15% travel to Harbor Springs, MI)

Job Overview

Belcan is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to support metrology and inspection activities for turbine airfoil and complex aerospace components. This role will involve both onsite and remote programming support, with a focus on Renishaw Equator Systems and integration with Hexagon QDAS software. The ideal candidate will have strong GD&T knowledge, experience with airfoil inspection, and a poka-yoke mindset to ensure robust, repeatable inspection routines.

Responsibilities
  • Develop CMM programs from 3D models for Renishaw Equator Systems using Modus or equivalent software.
  • Support correlation activities and gage R&R studies per AS13003 standards.
  • Validate and improve repeatability and reproducibility of CMM routines.
  • Peer review and troubleshoot existing CMM programs within the Metrology department.
  • Configure CMM report outputs and CSV files for integration with Hexagon QDAS.
  • Travel to customer sites for program prove-out, validation, and support.
Core Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in CMM programming with understanding of turbine airfoil inspection and complex component metrology.
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge including complex datum structures and iterative alignments.
  • Proficiency in PC-DMIS, Calypso, or other industry-standard CMM platforms.
  • Experience with gage R&R and AS13003 or similar standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to write robust, crash-resistant CMM programs for shop floor use.
  • Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related technical field
  • Experience with Renishaw Equator Systems and Modus programming.
  • Familiarity with Hexagon QDAS software integration.
  • Background in aerospace or automotive quality standards.
