Job summary

OpenKyber in El Cajon, CA seeks a CMM Programmer to develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs for aerospace parts, ensuring inspection accuracy and product conformity.

You will work with 3D scanning, Siemens NX modeling, and coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to drive first article and in-process inspections.

Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or aerospace engineering is required, with 4–6 years of relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing or MRO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and 4–6 years of aerospace metrology experience.
• Experience with aerospace manufacturing or MRO; familiarity with CMM platforms and metrology best practices.
• Ability to support GD&T requirements, first article, and in-process inspections.

Job description

Job Title: CMM Programmer Location: El Cajon, CA Onsite/ Remote: Onsite

The pay range for this role is $85k- $110kper annum including any bonuses or variable pay. Tech Mahindra also offers benefits like medical, vision, dental, life, disability insurance and paid time off (including holidays, parental leave, and sick leave, as required by law). The exact offer terms will depend on the skill level, educational qualifications, experience, and location of the candidate. This role is also open for contract: $45/hr - $55/hr

The CMM Programmer is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing coordinate measuring machine programs to support dimensional inspection of aerospace components. This role plays a key part in ensuring inspection accuracy, product conformity, and manufacturing quality performance.

Skills:

3D scanning using Hexagon Absolute Arm, reverse engineering of mechanical/aerospace components, and Siemens NX modeling. Must have demonstrated capability in converting point cloud/mesh data into accurate parametric 3D CAD models, including surface reconstruction, solid modeling, and manufacturing-ready engineering deliverables

Position Responsibilities:

• Create, validate, and maintain CMM programs for complex aerospace parts and assemblies (need information about which software like PCDMS)
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD T requirements, and inspection plans to ensure dimensional compliance
• Support first article, in-process, and final inspection activities
• Troubleshoot inspection issues and improve measurement efficiency, repeatability, and program robustness
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to resolve dimensional discrepancies and support corrective actions.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances and quality-critical components; experience supporting production and inspection operations in a precision manufacturing setting.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with 4-6 years of relevant exp.
• Aerospace manufacturing or MRO experience; familiarity with common CMM software platforms and metrology best practices; experience supporting high-mix or fast-turnaround inspection environments.
• Experience supporting process qualification and special process environments technician- or engineer-level background relevant to thermal spray operations.
