Don’t settle for ordinary when extraordinary is within reach.Summary: United CNC Machining is seeking a CMM Operator experienced with the Hexagon Romer Absolute Arm (or equivalent portable CMM arm) and PC-DMIS software to perform first article, in-process, and final part inspections on precision-machined aerospace and defense components. This role supports our AS9100D/ISO 9001 quality system and requires familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOperate portable CMM arm (Romer/Roamer Arm III) to inspect machined parts against engineering drawings and specificationsCreate, edit, and run inspection programs using PC-DMIS softwarePerform first article inspections (AS9102 format) and generate FAI reportsConduct in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional conformanceRead and interpret blueprints, GD&T callouts, and customer specificationsDocument inspection results and maintain accurate quality recordsIdentify and report nonconformances; support root cause and corrective action activitiesCalibrate and maintain measurement equipment per quality proceduresCollaborate with machinists, programmers, and quality team to resolve dimensional issuesMaintain compliance with ITAR and customer-specific quality requirementsQualifications2+ years of hands-on experience operating a portable CMM arm (Romer/Roamer, FARO, or similar)Proficiency in PC-DMIS software (programming and operation)Strong knowledge of GD&T (per ASME Y14.5) and blueprint readingExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports preferredAerospace or defense manufacturing quality experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with AS9100D/ISO 9001 quality systems a plusAbility to use standard measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) as neededStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracyMust be able to obtain/maintain compliance with ITAR requirements (U.S. Person status required)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25-35 lbs, and work on the shop floorMay be exposed to moving machinery, sharp metal chips, coolants, industrial chemicals, noise, heavy materials, etc.Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.Ability to hear in person and via phone.Why join United CNC Machining?100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insuranceCompetitive pay based on experiencePaid holidays and vacationFlexible start time (6:00 AM – 8:00 AM)Climate-controlled facilityOn-site fitness centerTobacco- and vape-free workplace United CNC Machining is an Equal Opportunity Employer
