Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a CMM Operator to run coordinate measuring machine programs (MCOSMOS with Renishaw Revo 5-axis heads) and inspect precision components for the company’s modular nuclear reactor systems. You will load fixtures, execute established programs, and review outputs for conformance in collaboration with the CMM Programmer and Quality team.

This hands-on role offers a clear path to CMM programming for the right candidate and operates within a fast-paced, high-impact startup

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience operating a CMM or equivalent inspection equipment
• Ability to read engineering drawings and basic GD&T
• Commitment to following established inspection procedures and programs
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Experience in fast-paced startup manufacturing environments is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and wear PPE in a shop/metrology lab

Responsibilities

• Load and fixture parts for CMM inspection per setup instructions
• Run existing CMM inspection programs in MCOSMOS with Renishaw Revo heads
• Review inspection output and flag deviations to Quality
• Troubleshoot alignment or fixturing issues; escalate as needed
• Support calibration and routine upkeep of CMM equipment and probes
• Read and interpret drawings, GD&T, and inspection reports
• Maintain inspection logs and documentation per quality procedures
• Assist with first-article inspection activities with Quality and Engineering
