Job summary

Precision Castparts in Crooksville, OH is seeking an inspector to operate coordinate measuring equipment for castings. You will read dimensional specifications from QEI, position castings on the measuring table, and record results in inspection sheets while ensuring tolerances are met.

The role requires basic math, the ability to read simple instructions, and the physical ability to handle equipment and lift up to 35 pounds as needed. Shift is Sunday–Thursday, 11pm–7am, with on-site work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Shift: Sunday- Thursday 11p-7a

Operates coordinate measuring equipment to measure dimensions of castings by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Performs general maintenance on measuring equipment.
• Reads Dimensional QEI to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications for selected castings.
• Positions castings on measuring table of equipment, views castings on monitor screen, and turns calibrated cranks on equipment to position control bar, with attached camera, over specified sections of castings.
• Flips toggles to lock camera in position, activates digital readout equipment, and records specified measurement of casting in inspection sheets.
• Repeats process to cover all sections of castings, including locations of specified drilled holes and samples of routed castings.
• Compares recorded measurements to QEI dimensions and tolerances and notifies Supervisor of discrepancies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
