Job summary

Midwest Precision, a CNC manufacturer in Eastlake, OH, seeks a 2nd shift CMM Operator to inspect machined components for quality and traceability. You will set up parts on a CMM, verify programs, read blueprints, and document results to support production. The role emphasizes precision, communication with the team, and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a CMM in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read manufacturing blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience using precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate inspection results clearly and work with production employees.
• Ability to work independently and manage inspection priorities on second shift.
• Experience inspecting CNC-machined components in aerospace or defense is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up parts and run established inspection programs on a CMM
• Verify part identification, inspection requirements, and correct program before inspection
• Read blueprints and specifications to evaluate conformance
• Use micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges to measure
• Review CMM reports and compare results to tolerances
• Complete accurate inspection records and maintain part traceability
• Identify nonconforming conditions and communicate to Quality and Production
• Coordinate inspection priorities with the Quality team and supervisors
• Maintain measuring equipment and keep the inspection area clean
• Follow company safety procedures and quality requirements
