Job summary

Magna International, Inc. Cosma Group seeks a skilled CMM operator to read blueprints, perform measurements and GD&T tasks, and ensure product quality. You will work with measuring instruments and coordinate with teams to meet deadlines in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires 3+ years of CMM experience, MSA training or certification, and the ability to operate precision measurement equipment. Expect regular hours with overtime as needed and a focus on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years’ experience operating a CMM machine.
• AIAG MSA Certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines.
• Proficient in MSA and SPC (Training provided).
• Proficient in GD&T and using measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, height gages).
• Able to operate Brown & Sharp DCC Coordinate Measuring Machine.
• Maintain punctuality and good attendance; work with others; protect confidentiality.

Job Responsibilities:

Required Capabilities

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines
• Proficient in MSA and SPC (Training to be provided)
• Proficient in using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficient in using measuring instruments, i.e. caliper, micrometer, height gages, etc.
• Able to use Brown & Sharp DCC Coordinate Measuring Machine.
• Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
• Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
• Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
• Proficient in personal computer operation and applications in a MS Windows operating system.
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customer
• Able to safely lift up to 40 pounds without assistance
• Able to safely use slings and hoists
• Able to maintain punctuality and good attendance record
• Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact
• Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Able to work flexible hours and overtime
• Must display a can-do attitude and be able to work and perform job responsibilities with a minimum amount of direct supervision

Qualifications, Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GE
• 3+ years' experience operating a CMM machine.
• Successful completion of AIAG MSA Certification Exam to be done within one year from hire date. If certification expires (e.g. every 3 years) employee must be re-certified prior to expiration.
