Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, located in Selmer, TN, seeks a skilled CMM Operator to join the Monogram Refrigeration team. You will support measurement requests, read engineering drawings, and help drive quality through precise 3D scans and data interpretation.

You will work with GD&T, CAD data, and metrology software such as Polyworks and Cameo Studio, ensuring accurate measurements and record keeping in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Requires secondary school qualification in a technical field or 2+ years related experience.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and Gauge R&R processes.
• Experience CAD data manipulation and 3D CAD data handling.
• Ability to think critically, work autonomously, and multi-task with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support management, Quality, Engineering, and Operations with Measurement Requests.
• Read and interpret Engineering Drawings and GD&T.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and maintain systematic records.
• Complete 3D scans and interpret data to guide engineers.
• Prepare parts for scanning and obtain necessary CAD data.
• Operate CMMs and enter data into the system.
• Use metrology tools (CMM, 3D scanner, calipers, micrometers).
• Cross-train in other Quality Department functions.

How You’ll Create Possibilities

Essential Functions (Responsibilities): These duties are not all-inclusive and may change over time.

• Supports Management, the Quality team, Engineering team, and Operations in all aspects of Measurement Requests for the site.
• Read and interpret Engineering Drawings
• Perform Root Cause Analysis, organize and maintain systematic records
• Complete 3D Scans, interpret data, and make recommendation to engineers based on results
• Prep parts for Scanning – including Targeting and Spray Painting
• Obtaining required CAD data from Engineer or CREO/Windchill needed to complete analysis
• Knowledge and application of GD&T – Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Knowledge and application of Polyworks 3D Metrology Software
• Interpret and apply new programs changes in Cameo Studio software language for new CMM measurement programs
• Perform required measurements on the CMM and transition to 3D Technology and enter data into system
• Scan Box VMR Programmer
• Use assorted metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, Ray Tech, CMM, 3D Scanner)
• Read and use analogue and digital meters and also use specialized gauges and equipment
• Proficient at Scanning with GOM Atos systems of equivalent
• Perform foam tests – Rinco and cup tests – on all B foam tanker loads – also verify offload tank temperatures prior to offload
• Perform Karl Fischer test to determine the moisture content of the oil
• Perform LOI testing for moisture content
• Cross Trained in other jobs within the Quality Department
• Computer literate and skilled in Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook & other essential MS Software, additional Metrology Software as applicable

What You’ll Bring to Our Team

Education/Qualifications /Requirements:

• Required: completion of secondary school qualification in a technical field, military equivalent, or minimum of 2 years of related experience, Six Sigma Certification a plus
• Understand Engineering Drawings, GD&T, and Gauge R&R Process
• Experience in CAD and/or manipulation of 3D CAD data
• Critical Thinking Skills to understand Test Requests and Proper Instrumentation to deploy, be able to work autonomously with limited Supervision and Multi-task
• Requires standing, stooping, walking on concrete 90 to 100%, occasional lifting, reaching, turning and carrying up to 75 pounds. Includes securing units from shop floor, moving them into the CMM room and returning said units back to shop floor after taking needed measurements
• Basic knowledge of Zoneline/refrigeration assembly and functionality – how the units work.
