CMM Operator - Titanium Aerospace Parts Production - Weekend Shift

Primary Purpose

A CMM Operator inspects machined and un-machined castings, wax patterns, and fixtures using manual and automated CMM devices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect castings, wax patterns, and fixtures using manual and automated CMM.
• Use hand-held measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.
• Complete detailed inspection reports and review dimensional data from CMM inspections.
• Communicate closely with engineering.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Good math skills and self-motivation.
• Ability to perform inspections on raw and machined castings, including first articles.
• Ability to read blueprints and customer specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to perform precise machine setups.
• Attention to detail and a positive attitude.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without accommodations.
• At least 18 years old; HS diploma or GED required (relevant experience considered).
• Solid job history with over 1 year at previous employers.
• Pre-employment background check required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of dimensional inspection experience in aerospace castings and layout inspection, including use of inspection equipment.
• Experience operating manual CMM, automated CMM, or CNC machines.
• Knowledge of OpenDMIS and Calypso software.
• CMM and CNC programming skills.
• CAD experience.

Working Conditions

• Work near moving mechanical parts.

Schedule

• Weekend shift.
