Job summary

A & R Engineering Co Inc in the South Bay area of California is seeking a CMM Operator to run two Hexagon Metrology CMMs using PC-DMIS. The role emphasizes high-precision inspection of aerospace parts and familiarity with GD&T and AS9102 concepts.

Candidates should have 3+ years of CMM experience in aerospace/defense, plus basic PC-DMIS skills and the ability to read complex drawings. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years dedicated CMM operating experience in aerospace/defense.
  • Basic proficiency in PC-DMIS.
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 & Y14.1 GD&T.
  • Mastery of complex aerospace drawings, specs and digital definitions.
  • Experience inspecting titanium, Inconel and aluminum.

Responsibilities

  • Operate 2 Hexagon Metrology CMMs with PC-DMIS for high-precision parts.
  • Learn and execute AS9102 First Article using Net-Inspect.
  • Assist in creating AS9102 1st Article Inspection reports.
  • Inspect aerospace materials and ensure dimensional conformance.
  • Maintain aerospace inspection documentation and records.

Job description

Overview

We are a rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer.

Position Overview

The CMM Operator will operate 2 Hexagon Metrology CMM's with the 2026 version of PC-DMIS for high-precision, complex parts. While PC-DMIS programming experience is not required, a basic understanding of PC-DMIS routines using CAD models and Model-Based Definition (MBD) is a plus.

Be willing to learn and execute and validate AS9102 First Article using Net-Inspect.

Assist in creating AS9102 1st Article Inspection reports. Mechanical inspection background and ability to perform such is highly desirable.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 + years of dedicated CMM operating experience specifically in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Software Expertise: Basic proficiency in PC-DMIS.
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5 & Y14.1 GD&T.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Mastery of complex aerospace engineering drawings, specifications, and digital product definitions.
  • Material Familiarity: Proven experience inspecting diverse aerospace materials, including titanium, Inconel, and aluminum.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

Compensation range: $25 to $35 per hour.

Must live in the South Bay or adjacent.
