Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist II, CMC Pipeline Innovation based in Somerset, NJ, to drive innovative manufacturing and analytics across the development pipeline.

You will execute LVV downstream development, evaluate new technologies, and communicate data-driven recommendations to cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes collaboration, data analysis, and scalable process improvements within cell and gene therapy platforms.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Virology, Immunology or related field; 0–3 years experience preferred; others considered.
• Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing unit operations (bioreactor, TFF, sterile filtration, chromatography) for biologics or AT products.
• Familiarity with LVV processes and analytical tools desirable but not required.
• Knowledge of AI/ML applications in bioprocess development and gene-therapy platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of analytical characterization techniques (HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS/MS, Raman) is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Execute LVV downstream process development, including purification strategy design and scale-up to improve yield and purity.
• Develop feasibility and characterization studies to assess new technologies and generate data-driven recommendations.
• Design lab studies to evaluate new manufacturing, analytical, and characterization technologies.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities to implement new tech into development/workflows.
• Draft protocols, execute studies, and communicate results via reports and presentations.
