Piedmont HealthCare seeks a Medical Assistant to perform patient care activities under supervision by a physician or nurse. The role requires CMA-AAMA or NCMA certification, BCLS, and either a formal MA or Nursing Assistant program, or one year of related clinical experience. No prior experience may be required in some cases.

The position is based in Covington, GA, with standard healthcare facility hours and opportunities for growth within Piedmont Medical Care Corporation.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Preferred and
• Graduate of an accredited an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required or
• In lieu of degree one (1) year of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Required and
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Required or
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT Required
