The David C. Wynecoop Memorial Health Center in Wellpinit, WA is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support providers and front desk staff in a fast-paced clinic.

You will perform clinical and administrative duties, assist with examinations, and help ensure patient comfort and safety. As a full-time, non-exempt team member, you will handle vital signs, injections, phlebotomy basics, medical record documentation, and coordination of referrals while upholding HIPAA and tribal policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Current CMA credential required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records systems.
• Experience working in a tribal, rural, or community healthcare setting.

Responsabilités

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while assisting the provider with examinations and treatments.
• Obtain and record vital signs, medication reconciliation, verification of medication allergies, medical histories, and patient information.
• Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures.
• Work with front receptionist to schedule appointments.
• Coordinate patient referrals as needed.
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, clean, and prepared for patient visits.
• Greet telephone calls professionally, speak clearly, calmly, and respectfully. Use patient identifiers such as DOB to screen telephone calls, schedule and confirm appointments, relaying provider instructions/concerns (i.e. lab results or imaging results), and answering questions within scope of practice.
• Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures, workplace safety procedures, infection control standards, HIPAA requirements, tribal policies and procedures, bylaws, and all federal and state laws and regulations while always maintaining the confidentiality of all patients and employees.
• Participate in quality improvement (QI) activities, including data collection, chart audits, performance improvement projects, and patient care outcome monitoring.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve patient satisfaction, safety, workflow efficiency, and compliance with clinical standards.
• Support implementation of evidence-based practices and quality assurance initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to regulatory and accreditation compliance efforts.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous quality improvement programs.
