Job summary

Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, MI is seeking a CMA/LPN or RN for per diem coverage in a family practice or specialty clinic. The role requires strong clinical and critical thinking skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting the Provider, preparing exam rooms, documenting in EMR, patient education, and coordinating tests and follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Current MI state LPN/RN license or Medical Assistant Certification required.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a CMA/LPN or RN in a healthcare setting, preferably rural/outpatient.
• Ability to deal with patients tactfully and courteously.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Providers, other employees, and patients.
• Knowledge of current medical practices and procedures.
• Ability to provide quality care and assist the provider with procedures and exams in the office setting.
• Accuracy and dedication to providing high quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Takes patients' vital signs and prepares for Provider examination.
• Assists Provider to maximize provider time and patient care quality.
• Prepares exam rooms and ensures clinical information is available for review.
• Enter orders data accurately in EMR.
• Provide patient education/teaching as requested by Provider.
• Assist with patient phone calls, prescription refills, and follow-ups.
• Provide patient care including injections, treatments, and diagnostic testing; document accordingly.
• Restock exam rooms and order clinical supplies as needed.
• Document accurately in patient EMR and report to relevant agencies.
