Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Physician Services in Athens, GA seeks a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse, performing front office and back office duties. Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program, or two years of related clinical experience.

CMA-AAMA certification and BCLS are required at hire.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program required.
• In lieu of formal education, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with MA/NA program required.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
