Job summary

Piedmont Medical Care Corporation is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines. The role includes front office and back office tasks in a busy clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Medical Assistant program, CMA-AAMA or Nursing Assistant certification, and BCLS. GED or higher education is required, with relevant clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GED or higher education required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program required.
• In lieu of formal education, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of patient care activities under supervision of a physician, physician extender, or RN in accordance with guidelines.
• Duty assignments include front office and back office functions.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
