Piedmont Healthcare, Inc. in Georgia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse.

The role includes front office and back office duties and requires completion of a MA or Nursing Assistant program, or equivalent experience. Candidates must hold CMA-AAMA certification and Basic Life Support, and have at least one year of medical office experience.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Nursing Assistant program required.
• In lieu of formal education, two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience required.
• One year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program required.
• If no degree/certification, two years of clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, physician extender, or registered nurse in accordance with established guidelines and standards. Duty assignments vary and include, but are not limited to front office and back office functions.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program Required or
• In Lieu of formal education program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience is Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience in a medical office setting with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program. Required or
• In lieu of degree /certification from a Medical/Nursing Assistant program, two (2) years of medical assistant or related clinical experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
