Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking Certified Medical Assistants for Family Medicine and Internal Medicine clinics across the Des Moines metro. This CMA role supports providers, assists with clinical care, and helps create a positive patient experience within a collaborative team.

Candidates must have completed an accredited Medical Assisting program and hold CMA certification. Prior outpatient experience is preferred, and familiarity with EPIC is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Medical Assisting program and certification.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the listed cert bodies.
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and AP providers during patient exams, treatments and procedures.
• Room patients, obtain and document histories, vital signs, and other clinical information in the EHR.
• Perform point-of-care testing and other clinical tasks within scope of practice.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per licensure.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures and provide support during visits.
• Educate patients on medications, treatments and preventive care.
