Qualifications

• Must have CMA certification in North Carolina.
• Must have CNA certification in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Notifies licensed staff when a resident reports pain.
• May take and record residents' vital signs as needed.
• Records medication administrations in the facility system.
• Responds to resident call lights and anticipates resident needs on shift.
• Observes for adverse drug reactions and reports to a nurse.
• Maintains resident safety and contributes to quality care.
• Administers PRN medications per policy and regulations.
• Documents changes in resident condition and incidents.
