Job summary

WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center in Vienna, WV is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide basic nursing support under supervision. The role includes patient intake, vital signs, room preparation, and assisting clinicians.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, BLS, CMA certification, and at least one year of healthcare experience. Graduation from an accredited MA program is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms and obtain initial information and vital signs.
• Prepare exam rooms with cleanliness and available supplies.
• Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedule appointments and set up referral contacts as needed.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Educate patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintain quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensure all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assist patients with completion of medical documentation.

Performs basic nursing skills, and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional and/or registered nursing staff.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

Experience

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
