Responsibilities
  • Oversee and assist PCAs to ensure quality resident care meets Fellowship Home standards and residents’ expectations; ensure the daily routine for each PCA is completed each day.
  • Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff and effective employee relations; communicate clearly with all employees to ensure a positive understanding of goals and direction.
  • Assist with operational effectiveness of the medication room, medication carts, and personal care stations: ensure appropriate medications, wound‑care supplies, and treatment supplies are present and delivered to residents; keep the rooms clean and orderly; maintain proper medication inventory and coordinate with pharmacy, physicians, etc.
  • Become proficient with the internal system (Resident Manager), EMAR, and communication log while maintaining other records to actively track incidents, illnesses, and happenings concerning residents and staff.
  • Administer assigned medications during your shift and PRN medications indicated/requested by residents.
  • Maintain understanding of the Department of Community Health’s Healthcare Facility Regulation Division’s Rules & Regulations for Assisted Living Communities and apply them to achieve operational effectiveness within your scope of responsibility.
  • Ensure the LPN Floor Nurse and/or DRC is kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of the community and any important factors affecting operations.
Qualifications
  • CMA license required.
  • At least 2 years documented experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Compassion and desire to serve senior adults.
Physical Requirements
  • Body positions: sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling.
  • Body movements: lift at least 35lbs with or without assistance, bend torso, reach, turn head and torso; push at least 100lbs with or without assistance for up to 12hour intervals.
  • Body senses: adequate use of eyes and ears; adequate power of speech.
Mental Requirements
  • Reading: able to read and comprehend written instructions related to the care and oversight of residents; able to communicate verbally and in writing with peers and supervisors.
  • Language: able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, to give instructions, relay information, and conduct effective interchange with staff and residents.
  • Social: able to relate well with others, provide a non‑hostile workplace, and receive direction from peers and supervisors with a positive attitude.
