Responsibilities

Summary/Responsibilities of this position:

  • Stock and sell products to new and existing retail customers.
  • Order assigned products to maximize sales.
  • Merchandise, front, and sell products as assigned.
  • Work under supervision following detailed instructions.
  • Apply and develop basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment relevant to the department.
  • Possess specific product knowledge depending on the department.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent customer service.
  • Organizing, cleaning, and preparing the back area for deliveries.
  • Keeping the sales floor clean and free from spills.
  • Stocking and rotating items as needed.
  • Resetting products and maintaining shelf conditions, including signage.
  • Checking shipments for out-of-date or damaged products to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations on product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation.
  • Maintaining standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control.
  • Assisting in merchandising to maximize sales.
  • Using suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
Experience and Education (Preferred)
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of department products, food preparation, and equipment preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty foods and food preparation essential.
  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for food.
  • Materials handling equipment certification preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to manage materials weighing over 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.
