Job description

Oversees day-to-day operations of the clubhouse and grounds for the Crystal Lake Yacht Club, including but not limited to shore staff, galley staff, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and supporting all events at the club. Coordinates the use of water staff for shore duties with the Sailing Director. Some time on the water may be necessary if there are shortages with the water staff.

Job Type: Seasonal full-time position.
40+ hours a week, from June 10th to August 25th.
Tuesday through Sunday, 9 AM to 4 PM (some days may require earlier or later times for special events).

Pay Scale: Starting at $22 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

Skills and Knowledge: Experience supervising a staff of 8 to 10 people. Good social skills and the ability to resolve conflicts with staff and members. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Essential Functions:

Managerial
  • Engage with members daily
  • Field inquiries from guests on the Club grounds
  • Coordinate job assignments between water and grounds staff with the Sailing Director
  • Provide training for staff on various jobs
  • Verify staff time reporting
  • Work with the Office Manager to reconcile invoices as needed
  • Accept deliveries from vendors
Clubhouse/Grounds
  • Maintain grounds, grass, and trimming
  • Maintain clean and safe tennis and pickleball courts
  • Assist in preparing the Club for special events (social or regatta)
  • Ensure the Club (including kitchen and bathrooms) is clean
  • Order supplies for building and grounds maintenance

Physical Requirements: The physical demands include talking or hearing regularly, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally lifting packages, office products, and supplies up to 50 pounds.
