Job summary

The AES Group is seeking a Cluster DRE to oversee design reviews and specification conformance for automotive components at Auburn Hill, Michigan. You will coordinate APQP deliverables with suppliers, manage DFMEA/Process FMEA, and drive changes and validation activities across HW/SW/Mechanical domains.

You will lead technical reviews, ensure packaging and safety compliance, and maintain thorough documentation and KPI tracking throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Review APQP deliverables on schedule; ensure supplier provides them on time with required maturity; ensure 3D model and packaging reviews meet specs.
• Ensure component drawings align with design rules and main interfaces/pinouts; ensure regulatory compliance; ensure cyber security recommendations and tests meet rules.
• Ensure DFMEA and Process FMEA are managed on time with consistency; obtain validation reports and justification; organize technical reviews with client stakeholders and steer action plans for freezing (HW, SW, Mechanical, Optical, Safety, PCB layout...).
• Manage Engineering Change requests and Change notifications; provide detailed analysis supporting main features while addressing fixes (failure tree analysis, 5 Why); provide KPI updates to project team.
• Timing plan for modernization and flashing campaigns within the plant.
• Store and record documentation supporting decisions and design choices; provide minutes detailing decisions and actions with dates and pilots; maintain a list of open issues and status.
• Main documentation describing recommendations for packaging and supplier inputs; if part qualifies for safety, include justifications and safety reports.
• Plant documentation to assess part assembly compliance for sign-off.
• Documentation supporting technical assessment in supplier offers; ensure follow-up and updates to technical package.
• SW, HW, MK technical reviews with suppliers and verify compliance with specifications.
• Mechanical deep dive with suppliers on action plans to recover from non-compliance with specs.
• HW/SW deep dives with suppliers; document progress with milestones; ensure part release management with supplier.
• GIM triaging, issue management with warranty and quality follow-up and supplier communication.
• Post-release/warranty analysis and after-sale issue management; service bulletins and logistics; collect production needs and KPI management.
• Presentation to validation panel for OTA/FOTA updates in serial life; coordinate with OTA assessment teams and captive fleet for approvals.
• Identify concerned features and link to supplier convergence; manage cost/volume with suppliers using STLA processes/tools.
