Job Description: The primary responsibility of the Club Services Team Lead is to provide leadership and direction day to day to the individuals working on club repair and club building tasks. This is a hands-on player/coach role that will be asked to lead by example. This position reports to the Raleigh Club Services Manager. The repair service team provides the receiving department with light repair and refinishing work on clubs as needed. Those with advanced club repair experience also assist with more advanced club repair, club customization and club building activities. The Club Services Team Lead is expected to be continuously learning and advancing their club repair knowledge and skill sets.
The essential job functions of the Club Services Team Lead position will include but will not be limited to:
- Assign and coordinate the resources required to maintain daily processes for club repair and club building activity
- Coordinate the process flow for damaged clubs and post receipt work order repairs such that work in process volumes are kept at manageable levels
- Assist with the repair and club building efforts. Strive to become the in-house expert on all process steps required to repair and build golf equipment. These services include but are not limited to activities like regripping clubs, shaft removal and install, club head polishing and refinishing, club component building and club loft, length and lie angle customizations
- Provide oversight and assist as needed with the steps required to salvage components from non-value golf equipment post receipt. Ensure team maintains safe and efficient handling and disposal of said goods
- Coordinate work orders with outside vendors as needed including purchase of OEM component parts, refurbishing of putters and other items with 3rd party service providers and the sale of repair service overstock to 3rd parties
- Oversee quality control checks to ensure club repair technicians are following manufacturer guidelines during assembly of clubs received in component form from manufacturers and that these products are consistently being built in accordance with each OEM’s specifications
- Assist with process steps required to refinish clubs and improve visual presentation to customers prior to sale
- Utilize and maintain the equipment required for polishing and sandblasting golf clubs in an effort to increase overall grade condition of preowned clubs and keep said equipment in safe and working order
- Utilize continuous improvement strategy to identify repair service and receipt processing improvements that can help drive better efficiency and productivity for the team
- Assist with keeping repair service area safe, clean and organized on a daily basis
Experience/Skills Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on task at hand and meet our quality control protocols; must have the tenacity to ensure accuracy of all assignments completed
- Is dependable and takes personal ownership of responsibilities
- Golf club product knowledge is required and knowledge base must be current within the last 3-5 years
- Previous club repair experience is a plus; can train detail orientated candidates
- Ability to learn and follow standardized procedures and operate in a fast paced environment
- Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications; able to efficiently utilize a keyboard, mouse and scan wedge to efficiently receive products
- Experience using inventory management software and working in a distribution center or production environment a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with effective time management skills; must be capable of managing project and tasks independently as needed
- Effective problem-solving skills; ability to shift focus as needed and see tasks through to completion
- High school level math and reading skills
- Available Monday – Friday between 7am and 5pm for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Some weekend and/or overtime hours may be required occasionally depending on production and seasonality requirements
- Ability to lift boxes up to 25 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
