Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Baltimore (BGCMB) is seeking a strategic, community-centered leader to launch and lead the Boys & Girls Club at Mace’s Lane Community Center in Cambridge, Maryland. Developed in partnership with Mace’s Lane Community Center, Inc., this Club will serve as a vibrant community anchor, providing high-quality after-school and summer programming that advances youth outcomes in Healthy Lifestyles, Arts, Culture & Expression, and Great Futures. The site is designed to engage more than 500 young people and community members annually and includes a STEM lab, art studio, gymnasium, multipurpose spaces, and outdoor field access. The Club Manager will oversee all aspects of Club operations, including team leadership, program quality, budget management, facility operations, and community partnerships. This is a high-impact opportunity for a mission-driven leader to honor the legacy of Mace’s Lane High School and create new pathways for young people to learn, lead, and thrive. The ideal candidate will build a culture of excellence, strengthen trust across the community, and ensure every young person who enters the Club has access to safe, inspiring, and outcome-driven opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Community Presence
  • Represent BGCMB with credibility and professionalism in interactions at community events, school meetings, neighborhood forums, and partner gatherings to strengthen visibility, trust, and support for the Club.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with families, schools, youth-serving organizations, and community stakeholders to increase participation, deepen engagement, and reinforce the Club’s role as a trusted community resource.
Program Strategy and Quality
  • Lead annual planning for Club programming, including goals, priorities, and measurable youth development outcomes aligned with BGCMB’s strategic direction.
  • Use MyClubHub and other required data tools to consistently track program outputs and youth impact, maintain accurate and timely records, and hold the Club accountable for measuring, reporting, and improving both.
  • Partner closely with BGCMB’s central administrative team to align site-based programming and operations with organizational standards, shared priorities, available resources, and established best practices.
Operations and Resource Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between BGCMB and Mace’s Lane Community Center, Inc., ensuring strong coordination, shared accountability, and effective communication.
  • Manage the Club budget responsibly, monitor expenditures, and make informed recommendations regarding supplies, equipment, and operational needs.
  • Prepare timely reports that capture participation, partner engagement, events, accomplishments, and operational challenges.
Team Leadership and Talent Development
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and retain talented staff and volunteers, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and learning.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 5–10 direct reports focused on exceptional youth development, strong operations, and meaningful community engagement.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure that administrative, operational, and life-safety systems are fully in place and that the Club environment remains safe, clean, welcoming, and well maintained.
  • Maintain compliance with BGCMB and BGCA safety standards, membership requirements, and internal and external safety assessments.
  • Promote BGCMB’s Culture of Safety and reinforce a shared commitment to the well-being of members, staff, volunteers, and guests.
Community Partnerships and Engagement
  • Build, strengthen, and steward strategic partnerships that expand opportunities for youth and families and deepen the Club’s impact in the community.
  • Identify and cultivate new collaborations that support program quality, family engagement, membership growth, visibility, and long‑term community impact.
  • In partnership with the Regional Relationship Manager, support fundraising efforts by helping identify opportunities, engage supporters, and steward donors to strengthen resources and expand opportunities for youth across the region.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Resource Development functions to support storytelling, public relations, membership recruitment, and broader community engagement efforts.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Club operations and organizational priorities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth-serving organization, including responsibility for planning and supervising developmentally appropriate programs for young people.
  • At least two years of leadership experience in a supervisory role.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant software systems.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Boys & Girls Club programming, policies, and best practices.
  • Experience managing facilities and maintaining safe, welcoming environments for youth and families.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, budget oversight, and operational management.
  • Demonstrated success building and sustaining partnerships with community organizations, schools, and corporate partners.
  • Experience supporting youth behavior management and creating positive, structured environments.
