Job Summary

Assist the Executive Chef in preparing and cooking food. Coordinate activities of cooks and food-service staff. Take responsibility in the absence of the Executive Chef. Essential Duties include:

1. Cooking and preparing food per recipes and standards, meeting deadlines based on orders.
2. Supervising food service staff, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and counseling.
3. Storing food safely following all sanitation procedures.
4. Ensuring proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.
5. Maintaining cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and workstations.
6. Interacting with customers to resolve complaints courteously and relaying information to supervisors.
7. Understanding and explaining menu items to staff and customers.
8. Managing peak production and service hours.
9. Monitoring inventory, deliveries, and tracking usage and waste; informing supervisors of low supplies.
10. Performing additional duties as assigned.
