Under general supervision, performs waived, moderate and high complexity testing. Performs and evaluates test results and quality control procedures; performs test validations and development to include new methods/instruments. Performs instrument preventative maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting. May be cross trained in more than one area of the laboratory. Actively participates in evaluation and monitoring of quality control programs. Evaluates and implements new methods and develops procedures. Instructs other staff, and students in the CLS training program. Adheres to all applicable regulatory and accreditation quality standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSClinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS). (Must have current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health or CGMBS (Clinical Genetics Molecular Biology Scientist License).
Must have at least three (3) years experience of applicable clinical laboratory experience.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $121,626 - $160,275 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $58.25 - $76.76
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
