Job summary

Actalent seeks a Cloud Test Automation Engineer to own AWS-based test automation for cloud-to-device deployment workflows. You will design, build, and operate test automation using AWS CDK (TypeScript) and CI/CD-driven provisioning to deploy Greengrass components and validate releases.

Responsibilities include end-to-end automation, CI/CD integration, reducing test flakiness, and improving observability. On-call rotation and hands-on validation with devices are mentioned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in AWS automation, deployment workflows, or infrastructure engineering.
• Proficiency with AWS CDK using TypeScript.
• Strong TypeScript skills for infra/automation.
• Python for scripting, tooling, or test automation.
• Experience building automated tests and integrating into CI pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud test automation end-to-end across design, testing, CI/CD, and release readiness.
• Develop and maintain AWS CDK stacks to provision cloud environments and deploy IoT Greengrass components.
• Design and evolve automated test suites (integration, end-to-end, regression) and integrate quality gates into CI/CD.
• Improve test reliability by reducing flakiness and adding diagnostics to test infrastructure.
• Write clear bug reports with steps, impact, and root-cause analysis; track to resolution.
• Establish release-readiness mechanisms like dashboards, signals, checklists, and alerts.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve system testability and prevent regressions.
• Support hands-on validation with physical devices and on-call rotation for reliability.
