Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Santa Clara is seeking a software engineer to join the MLS team on EC2 Nitro, delivering the foundation for cloud computing at scale.

You will develop in C/C++ or Rust on Linux, participate in building scalable distributed systems, and contribute to ML frameworks and cluster management.

The role emphasizes strong CS fundamentals and collaboration within a team, with a focus on high-performance training and inference workloads.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 3+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 3+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• The ideal candidate is expected to have solid understanding of CS fundamentals, and expertise in C/C++ or Rust development in a Linux environment. Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and software unit testing are required.
• In-depth knowledge of ML frameworks and cluster management is highly preferred.
