Job summary

Elevate Technology Group is seeking a Cloud Systems Engineer to build and maintain cloud-native AWS environments. The role requires strong Linux expertise, scripting in Bash/Python, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.

The position is fully onsite in Fairfax, VA or Denver, CO and requires a Top Secret clearance or higher. Responsibilities include deploying AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC), automating tasks, and ensuring security, monitoring, and performance tuning across Linux-based

Qualifications

• Must have strong hands-on AWS experience and ability to build AWS infrastructure, not just support existing environments.
• Strong Linux knowledge with hands-on expertise.
• Scripting experience in Bash or Python (or similar).
• Kubernetes and Docker experience strongly preferred; mid-to-senior engineering level.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain cloud-native environments within AWS.
• Configure AWS services including EC2, VPC, and related infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux environments.
• Develop scripts to automate repetitive infrastructure tasks.
• Support automated OS and cloud infrastructure deployments.
• Work with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Contribute to security hardening, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot networking and broader infrastructure issues.

Cloud Systems Engineer

Role: Cloud Systems Engineer

Location: Fairfax, VA or Denver, CO

Base Salary: $130,000 - $210,000 Base + 50% employer package

Clearance: Top Secret or higher

We are looking for a Cloud Systems Engineer to join a highly regarded defense technology organization in either Fairfax, VA or Denver, CO.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining cloud-native AWS environments, working across Linux infrastructure, automation, scripting and containerization.

The Role

• Build and maintain cloud-native environments within AWS
• Build and configure AWS services including EC2, VPC and related infrastructure
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux environments
• Develop scripts and automate repetitive infrastructure tasks
• Support automated OS and cloud infrastructure deployments
• Work with Kubernetes and Docker
• Support system security, hardening, monitoring and performance tuning
• Troubleshoot networking and wider infrastructure issues

The wider environment includes Linux, cloud virtualization, automated infrastructure deployment, networking, scripting and container technologies.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong hands-on AWS experience
• Experience building AWS infrastructure, rather than simply supporting an existing environment
• Strong Linux knowledge
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python or similar
• Kubernetes experience highly preferred
• Docker/containerization experience
• Mid-to-senior level engineering experience

This position is fully onsite and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.
