Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto seeks a Principal System Engineer – Cloud Services to lead design, deployment and optimization of cloud infrastructure across AWS/Azure/GCP to support AI/ML workloads and modern applications.

You will drive IaC with Terraform and CI/CD using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, ensuring security compliance, monitoring performance, and collaborating with data engineering teams to optimize pipelines and Databricks environments.

Qualifications

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience required.
BS degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Management, Business Analytics, Business Administration or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
Create business cases for new technology solutions and AI initiatives; collaborate with data engineering teams.
Enable and maintain CI/CD pipelines and IaC practices using Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Provide technical support and resolve cloud-related issues; perform root cause analysis.
Monitor cloud services to ensure performance and security; optimize costs.
Ensure security policies and compliance standards are met in cloud environments.
Develop automation scripts to streamline cloud operations.
Maintain documentation of cloud configurations, procedures, and policies; report on usage, performance, and security.
