Job summary

MANTECH seeks an experienced Cloud System Administrator to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role focuses on deploying, maintaining, and securing hybrid cloud and on-premises systems to ensure high availability and robust mission performance.

Responsibilities include managing AWS resources, Windows and Linux environments, and enterprise identity services, with automation and CI/CD pipeline support. DoD IAT Level II clearance, or commitment to obtain, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with 10+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Cloud Engineer (or 5 additional years of SA experience in lieu of a degree).
• Practical experience managing core AWS resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, or auto-scaling environments.
• Hands‑on experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux operating systems
• Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or commitment to obtain within 60 days of program start date.

Responsibilities

• Deploying, administering, and maintaining robust cloud environments (primarily AWS) while actively supporting existing on-premises server infrastructure.
• Providing end-to-end administration and troubleshooting for Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 10/11 clients, and enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL 8/9, Amazon Linux 2023).
• Managing enterprise identity and core network services, including Active Directory, DNS, and Certificate Authorities.
• Developing and maintaining scripts and configurations to streamline infrastructure provisioning and automated configuration management.
• Partnering with software development teams to ensure operational stability of auto-scaled software deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring system availability, performance, and security posture while conducting root-cause analysis and incident response as needed.

The Cloud System Administrator will leverage technical expertise and leadership to deploy, maintain, and secure hybrid cloud and on-premises systems, ensuring optimal operational availability, automated infrastructure provisioning, and robust mission performance.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Deploying, administering, and maintaining robust cloud environments (primarily AWS) while actively supporting existing on-premises server infrastructure.
• Providing end-to-end administration and troubleshooting for Windows Server 2019/2022, Windows 10/11 clients, and enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL 8/9, Amazon Linux 2023).

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience writing and implementing automation via SaltStack, Ansible, BASH, and Python.
• Experience managing, maintaining, and securing enterprise data storage systems across cloud and hybrid infrastructure to optimize performance, backup integrity, and cost control.
• Familiarity with cloud security compliance frameworks and risk mitigation standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities with demonstrated experience collaborating in enterprise or government IT environments.

Clearance Requirements: An active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
