Job summary

Set of X is hiring a Cloud System Administrator to deploy, maintain, and secure cloud-based infrastructure. You will work with Linux systems, containerized apps using Docker and Kubernetes, and IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

Expect to configure Helm charts, Traefik networking, and automation via Ansible while collaborating with DevOps and software engineers. A TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Linux systems in secure cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized apps.
• Hands-on with Helm charts, Ansible, and IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with Traefik networking and cloud-native architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, independence, and collaboration in a mission-focused setting.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Remotely manage Linux systems via SSH and perform admin tasks.
• Install and maintain software via RPM/YUM package management.
• Deploy and troubleshoot containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Collect system metrics and health data from Linux environments.
• Develop automation with Ansible and implement IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Install, configure, and manage Helm charts in Kubernetes environments.
• Support cloud operations, upgrades, security patches, and configuration management.
• Collaborate with software engineers and DevOps to ensure reliable cloud services.
• Troubleshoot system/application/infrastructure issues to maintain availability.

We are seeking a highly motivated Cloud System Administratorto support the deployment, administration, and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure and applications in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong Linux administration skills and experience working with containerized applications, automation tools, and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform Linux system administration tasks, including system monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Remotely connect to Linux systems using SSH to perform administrative and support functions.
• Install, configure, and maintain software packages using RPM and YUM package management tools.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
• Configure and support Traefik ingress controllers and related networking components.
• Gather system status, performance metrics, and health information from Linux-based environments.
• Develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible.
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Install, configure, and maintain applications using Helm charts within Kubernetes environments.
• Support cloud operations, system upgrades, security patching, and configuration management activities.
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps teams, and system administrators to ensure reliable and scalable cloud services.
• Troubleshoot system, application, and infrastructure issues to maintain operational availability.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices
• Experience monitoring and logging cloud-based systems
• Understanding of networking, security, and access management concepts within cloud environments

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Relevant cloud, Linux, or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.

Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
