Job Purpose

The Service Technical IT Applications unit is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused Team Manager. This leadership role encompasses responsibility for numerous critical applications, including over 10 applications in the Warranty area and Honda Care/Acura Care applications. The Warranty applications are currently undergoing significant transformations incorporating AI technologies, with plans for further modernization and adding GenAI technologies in the future.

The Honda Care/Acura Care is going through a significant modernization effort right now. This position involves providing delivery and technical leadership and guiding the delivery team to ensure alignment with unit, department, divisional, and AHM business unit objectives. The Team Manager will oversee multiple projects, including business transformation initiatives utilizing modern technology and platforms for the Service division and working with global teams.

Key Accountabilities
  • Vision & Strategy: Lead the Warranty and Honda/Acura Care Apps IT team to support the Service and Planning business unit with their application needs.
  • Build and maintain high performing IT teams: Foster associate development and long-term capability by teaching, coaching, and mentoring, integrated with consistent and effective individual performance management.
  • Achieve project goals: As approved annually, including schedule, budget, and quality commitments.
  • Provide Technical and Solution Leadership: Design technical solutions, provide architecture oversight, and conduct code reviews.
  • Promote IT capabilities: Build relationships and networks to meet internal and external customer needs.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
  • IT / Computer Science related Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years in IT/Information Services
  • 5+ years supervisory, resource management, vendor management experience
  • Experience supporting IT Delivery, preferably in automotive industry
  • Experience managing multiple large projects and platforms
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective communication skills at all organization levels
  • Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience in budgeting, vendor contracts, SOW, RFP & RFQ processes
  • Knowledge of SOX, PII, data privacy, security, governance
  • Experience with software development and implementation teams (Microsoft, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Technical architecture design and oversight experience
