Placements24 is recruiting an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect for our client, a fast-growing cloud consulting firm. The role is primarily based in Welkom, Free State, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

You will design, implement, and optimize scalable, secure cloud architectures across AWS and Azure. Responsibilities include migrations, client collaboration, and guiding cloud adoption for diverse industries.

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing and implementing cloud solutions (AWS and/or Azure).
• Knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, compute, storage, and databases.
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding cloud consulting firm, is searching for an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join their team. This role will primarily be based in **Welkom, Free State**, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions for a diverse range of clients across various industries. This position requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, along with strong technical expertise in infrastructure, networking, and security. You will play a key role in client engagements, translating business requirements into robust cloud architectures and guiding clients through their cloud adoption journey. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect enterprise-level cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS and Azure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and technical requirements, translating them into comprehensive cloud strategies.
• Develop detailed technical designs, including network topology, compute, storage, database, and security configurations.
• Lead the implementation and migration of applications and infrastructure to the cloud.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams during the design and implementation phases.
• Evaluate and recommend new cloud services and technologies to enhance client solutions.
• Develop and maintain cloud governance policies, best practices, and cost optimization strategies.
• Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting of cloud environments.
• Stay current with cloud computing trends, certifications, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience (7+ years) in designing and implementing cloud solutions, with a strong focus on AWS and/or Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud networking, security groups, IAM, compute instances, storage solutions, and database services.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud strategies.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable business terms.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
