We are hiring a Cloud Solutions Architect in our Alliances team to help our key partners (like Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata) understand and adopt our open source platform for their own and their customers' use.

The team applies expert insights to customer problems, promoting enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and related technologies. We support building reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions, and communicate effectively with diverse industries.

This role involves supporting OEMs, GSIs, ISVs, channel, and cloud alliance partners to adopt Canonical's products, and assisting in defining joint go-to-market strategies from a technical perspective.

Location: This is a home-based, worldwide role.

Responsibilities include:

1. Understanding Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments.
2. Architecting cloud infrastructure solutions (Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, Spark) on-premises or in public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
3. Designing and integrating open source software (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, NGINX).
4. Supporting partners in offering and architecting joint solutions with Canonical technologies.
5. Developing and validating reference architectures with partners.
6. Conducting onboarding workshops to promote Canonical products.

Qualifications:

• Extensive Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, and automation experience.
• Experience with cloud solutions (public or private).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Motivated, reliable, capable of multi-tasking.
• Customer engagement interest, including pitching and understanding client needs.
• Interest in LXD, Juju, Snaps.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% globally.
• Degree in CS, Math, Physics, or related field.
