We are a profitable, founder-led company experiencing growth. We seek a Cloud Solutions Architect in our Alliances team to help our major partners (like Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, Tata) understand and leverage our open source platform for their own and their customers' benefit.

Our global field engineering team applies expert insights to real-world customer problems, enabling enterprise adoption of Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, AI/MLOps, and related technologies. We are experts across the open source stack, from kernel to desktop, cloud to edge. We also focus on business challenges—building reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solutions—and communicate effectively with our customers and their industries.

We assist global companies in adopting public/private cloud infrastructure, cloud-native operations, and open source applications. For this role, we are hiring several Alliances Engineers to support OEMs, GSIs, ISVs, channel partners, and public cloud alliances. You will support various partners in adopting our products and technologies, and help define joint go-to-market strategies from a technical perspective.

Our field engineers handle complex customer queries and are trusted to always prioritize the best outcomes for partners and clients. This role is home-based, open worldwide.

What your day will look like

• Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world environments
• Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark in On-Premises or Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Architect and integrate open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX
• Assist partners in creating joint solutions using Canonical technologies on cloud and data centers
• Design and publish Reference Architectures and conduct technical validations with partners
• Conduct onboarding sessions/workshops to promote Canonical products and solutions

What we are looking for in you

• Extensive Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, and automation experience
• Experience designing solutions on public/private clouds
• Proficiency in Python and Bash, troubleshooting skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Motivated, reliable, and capable of multi-tasking
• Customer engagement interest, including pitching and environment assessment
• Interest in new tech like LXD, Juju, and Snaps
• Willingness to travel up to 30% globally
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field
