Job summary

Peraton seeks a Cloud Software Engineer to support our Cyber Mission business unit in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will contribute to developing and enhancing cloud-based applications that directly support national security operations.

You’ll work in a collaborative Agile environment leveraging DevOps tools and modern cloud technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. This role is ideal for junior engineers with an active TS/SCI clearance and polygraph who are looking to grow

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Two years of experience in software development/engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree may substitute for two years of experience in CS or related fields.
• Experience with Java development.
• Experience using Git or GitLab.

• Develop and enhance cloud-based applications for national security operations.
• Work in a collaborative Agile environment leveraging DevOps tools and modern cloud technologies.
• Onsite work at a contractor facility, with telework flexibility based on tasking and customer approval.

Job description

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph is required
• Two (2) years of experience in software development/engineering or related technical experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field may substitute for two (2) years of experience – Acceptable fields include Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar
• Experience with Java development (academic or professional)
• Experience using Git or GitLab

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to full-stack development (Java and/or JavaScript)
• Familiarity with React or Vue.js
• Experience working with REST APIs and JSON
• Familiarity with MongoDB
• Exposure to Docker and containerization concepts
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools
• Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins)
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence)
• One of the following certifications is desired: – AWS Certified Developer – Associate – AWS DevOps Engineer – Professional – Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
