Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise service delivering software security solutions across customer enclaves. This role uses a cloud-based platform with microservices and containerized tech to enable secure, scalable operations.

The engineer will join the Operations team and collaborate with cross-agency stakeholders to design, develop, and sustain enterprise capabilities in support of national security missions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field; master’s degree equivalent to years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle (design, development, integration, testing, maintenance).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (Security+ or higher).
• Proof of certifications to be provided during screening or offer process.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, deploy, secure, and sustain a cloud-based microservice software solution.
• Support design, development, testing, and sustainment of software products.
• Contribute to architecture and design reviews and help shape timelines and scope.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing and production issues.
• Support customers across the mission space and collaborate on updates.
• Review and refine software and system updates with team members.
• Assist in shaping technical approaches and project scope.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or in a related technical field is highly desired which will be considered equivalent to two (2) years of experience. A master's degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to four (4) years of experience. NOTE: A degree In Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar degree will be considered as a technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle including design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph is required.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification (Security+ or higher).

One of the following certifications is required:

• AWS Certified Developer - Associate
• AWS DevOps Engineer - Professional
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

Team is sourcing for a Software Engineer that will join the Operations team. There is NO on call for this operations team.

What You'll do:

• Key performer on the Operations team to monitor, maintain, deploy, secure, and sustain a cloud-based microservice built software solution.
• Support the software engineering team with their design, development, testing, and sustainment of the software products.
• Contribute to architecture and design reviews, and assist in shaping technical approaches, timelines, and project scope.

• Support customers across the customer mission space.
