BizFirst, on behalf of a U.S. intelligence customer, seeks a Cloud Software Engineer (OpenStack, Python) for an on-site role at Fort George G. Meade, MD.

Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph is required, with immediate start upon clearance. You will build and maintain software for intelligence mission systems and design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and related platforms, leveraging Linux, Bash, and Python.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and twelve (12) years of software engineering experience.
• Sixteen (16) years of software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and other comparable platforms.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems based on documented requirements.
• Experience reviewing and testing software components and documenting test results.
• Proficiency with the Linux/Unix command line and scripting (Bash, shell).
• Python programming skills.
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies.
• Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.

This position supports the following program: an enterprise engineering program that supports signals intelligence (SIGINT) mission systems through cloud infrastructure, AI/ML-driven software, and modernization of data dissemination processes for an Intelligence Community customer. The position is onsite at Fort Meade, MD, and the role is open now for an immediate start. Our client is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that has supported U.S. defense and intelligence missions since 2012. Its systems, software, and data science engineers work side by side with government teams to model, design, integrate, and deploy complex mission systems, and the company also builds rugged RF hardware for specialized SIGINT applications. Led by a U.S. Navy veteran with more than 30 years of DoD mission experience, the company supports programs alongside many of the largest national security integrators and has a long-established presence in Maryland near Fort Meade.

What will you do

Build and enhance software for intelligence mission systems while designing and managing the cloud infrastructure it runs on. You will develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems to documented requirements, review and test components against design requirements, and help decide when commercial or government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) products should replace new development. You will analyze usage and work processes to find and fix problem areas, and design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and comparable platforms. This role suits an experienced software engineer with strong Linux, scripting, and Python skills and hands-on private cloud experience.
