Job summary

Culper Technology in Maryland is hiring a Cloud Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize a large-scale, cloud-native platform supporting data-driven analytics and distributed computing.

You will work with Kubernetes, Hadoop, Accumulo, Docker, and open-source technologies to build and maintain scalable systems, while applying agile practices in a mission-focused environment. A TS/SCI clearance is required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience.
• 8+ years of software development/engineering experience.
• Experience with database technologies such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Linux development environments.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible.
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, or Pig.
• One or more of the following certifications required: Elastic Certified Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cloud-native software solutions using Java within a modern technology ecosystem.
• Design, build, and support scalable distributed systems that process large volumes of mission data.
• Work with technologies including Kubernetes, Hadoop, Accumulo, Docker, and open-source platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and support system performance, integration, and sustainment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while independently driving technical solutions.
• Apply Agile development practices and adapt to evolving mission requirements.
• Support continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies.
