Job summary

Independent Software is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer Level 3 to design, develop, and maintain large-scale cloud systems. You will work across frontend and backend, handling data ingestion, analytics, and deployment in distributed environments using modern web tech, microservices, and containerized apps.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering teams, design, testing, and sustainment, while mentoring peers and delivering robust, scalable solutions for mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

• Experience building cloud-based or distributed software systems.
• Experience with React/JSX for front-end development.
• Back-end development with Node.js, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, maintain, and enhance complex software applications
• Develop modern front-end applications and integrate with backend services
• Develop middleware to retrieve, parse, process, and deliver data to front-end apps
• Analyze requirements and translate into design and performance specs
• Design and implement database and data repository interfaces
• Debug and improve application performance
• Integrate existing software into new environments
• Develop and execute software testing procedures
• Lead and mentor software developers with code reviews
• Collaborate with system engineers, UX/UI teams and stakeholders
• Maintain software and system documentation
