Job summary

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems based on documented requirements. You will contribute to all stages of back-end processing, analysis, and indexing, and provide expertise in cloud computing and Hadoop ecosystem.

Onsite in Annapolis Junction, MD with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph required. The role requires 10–15 years of experience, strong Java and distributed computing skills, and familiarity with

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years experience software engineering in programs of similar scope; two (2) years in Big-Data Cloud tech.
• Two (2) years Cloud and Distributed Computing IR experience.
• One (1) year with Cloud BigTable interaction.
• One (1) year with Cloud Distributed File System interaction.
• One (1) year with MapReduce analytics.
• One (1) year with Cloud Distributed Coordination Frameworks.
• Experience with UNIX/Linux (CentOS) and network/IT operations.
• Experience with SOA: Java/Eclipse/MAVEN/RESTful services.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex Big-Data Cloud systems from requirements.
• Contribute to system design including hardware/software trade-offs and reuse.
• Review tests, resolve defects, and document results; ensure adherence to design requirements.
